Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and who sees it — written to be read, not skimmed past. The short version: your leads are shared with the contractor whose site captured them and the lender a homeowner picks, and never sold.

01Overview

This policy covers two groups of people: contractors who create an Inlay account, and homeowners who use the estimator widget on a contractor's website. We collect only what the service needs, and we never sell personal information.

02Information we collect

From contractors with an account:

  • Business name, contact name, and email address
  • Billing details, processed by our payment provider — we never store full card numbers
  • Settings you configure, such as follow-up message content and lender programs

03Information homeowners enter in the widget

When a homeowner runs an estimate, we collect the name and email they enter, along with the project amount, financing type, and credit score range they select on the sliders.

The credit score is self-reported by moving a slider. We do not run credit checks, pull credit reports, or verify the figure with any bureau. Using the widget never affects a homeowner's credit score.

04How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Deliver the homeowner's estimate by email
  • Send the follow-up sequence under the contractor's business name
  • Show leads in the contractor's dashboard
  • Route estimates to relevant financing partners when a homeowner chooses to proceed
  • Operate, secure, and improve the service

05How information is shared

We share personal information only in these cases:

  • With the contractor whose website captured the lead — that is the point of the product
  • With financing partners such as Figure, when a homeowner chooses to see their options
  • With service providers that host our infrastructure, deliver email, and process payments
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of Inlay and its users

06Cookies and analytics

Our marketing site and dashboard use a small number of cookies for sign-in sessions and privacy-respecting analytics. The embedded widget does not use advertising cookies and does not track homeowners across other websites.

07Data retention

We keep account and lead data while a contractor's account is active. After cancellation, lead data remains exportable for 90 days and is then scheduled for deletion. Homeowners can request deletion of their information at any time (see “Your choices” below).

08Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to production systems is limited to personnel who need it to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat lead data the way we would want our own customer list treated.

09Your choices

Every follow-up email includes an unsubscribe link that stops the sequence immediately. Contractors can export or delete their lead data from the dashboard. Homeowners and contractors can email team@getinlay.com to access, correct, or delete their personal information, and we will respond within 30 days.

10Children

Inlay is a tool for home-improvement businesses and homeowners. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

11Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify contractors by email and update the date at the top of this page before the changes take effect.

12Contact
